HTC Puccini 10-inch Tablet - First Look

HTC Puccini 10-inch Tablet - First Look

HTC Puccini 10-inch Tablet looks completely professional, with the leather cover and the section dedicated to store the stylus. On the back of the device there is an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and you can safely say that gives the possibility to shoot video in full HD 1080p. There is also a front camera, a pair of speakers and a microphone.

The main information that we have at the moment, AT & T and HTC have not yet officially decided to launch the device nor when, nor what it will cost, at least for the United States. In any case, according to look at the type of cover, it is assumed that the tablet has a higher cost than the current Motorola Xoom.

Toyota Interactive Windows For Cars

Toyota Interactive Windows For Cars

When the engineers at Toyota have seen the inside of a car, there must have been someone among them who thought what we did all those surfaces without a touchscreen, so, in collaboration Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, is a concept was born.

This is a window with several touchscreen functionality. It can be used to obtain information about objects outside, such as the distance of a house, or to entertain children with games, design software, digital zoom and so on.

At the moment everything is just a concept and there is still a working prototype, but it certainly is an interesting point on the projected trend for the future of the car.

Toshiba 32DB833 LCD TV Review

Toshiba 32DB833 LCD TV Review

This is precisely why Toshiba’s 32DB833 has the potential to cause a splash, though. For despite it being a brand, spanking new product, we’ve managed to find one selling for under £450. That’s less than you’d expect to spend on just a decent 32in TV alone, never mind one packing some serious Blu-ray heat.

Asus G74SX-BBK7 Laptop Review

Asus G74SX-BBK7 Laptop Review

Its exterior may look a little intimidating to the casual consumer, with its all black design and 2.4-inch thick bulky structure, but powerful internal components don't come small. The G74SX-BBK7 has a soft rubberized texture on the lid and interior palm rest, much like the Alienware M17X does. This material feels nice under your hand when typing on the full-sized chiclet keyboard. The keys have a plastic matte finish for a little more grip when typing. There's a numeric keypad off to the right, which is also full-sized with the exception of the 0 key. It's half-sized to make room for the arrow keys. The row of function keys add some nice user-control features, like adjusting the brightness of the screen and backlighting on the keyboard, volume, and turning the Wi-Fi on and off. The multi-touchpad is roomy and easy to navigate with, providing convenient commands, like two-finger scroll and pinch-zoom. The mouse buttons are made of the same soft rubberized texture as the palm rest and were soft and silent when clicked.

HP TouchPad Wi-Fi Tablet Review

HP TouchPad Wi-Fi Tablet Review

The TouchPad is available with Wi-Fi only (16GB, $499 or 32GB, $599). HP says the tablet will eventually be offered on AT&T, but connectivity details, pricing, and timing have yet to be announced. Measuring 7.5 by 9.5 by 0.6 inches, the TouchPad is almost twice as thick as the iPad 2, but otherwise similar in its dimensions and display size. The 9.7-inch, 1,024-by-768-pixel touch-screen LCD matches the iPad's size and resolution. And it has the same 4:3 aspect ratio, rather than the longer and thinner 16:9 screen many tablets, like the Motorola Xoom, use. The display is surrounded by a logo-free, flat black bezel, which also houses the front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera lens up top and the Home button below. The glossy black plastic on the back panel attracts fingerprints and features little more than the HP logo—there is no rear-facing camera. Rounded side panels house the few controls and connections on the tablet: a Power/Wake button, Volume controls, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro USB connection for the syncing/charging cable. There's also a pair of integrated stereo speakers. It's nice that there is stereo separation here, but, as is typical with tablet speakers, they don't sound great very good. Also typical (and unfortunate): The TouchPad doesn't come with earphones, but you do get a cleaning cloth and a USB sync cable that plugs into the included wall charger.

Samsung RV520-W01 Laptop - Features and Images

Samsung RV520-W01 Laptop - Features and Images

The RV520-W01 inherits the chassis design from its predecessor, the Samsung RV511-A01 ($599.99 list, 4 stars). It's made entirely out of hard plastic, in contrast to the aluminum lids found on the HP dv6-6013cl and Lenovo V570-1066A9U. Still, it isn't as ordinary as the designs found in the Acer Aspire AS5742-6811 ($699.99 list, 4 stars) and Toshiba Satellite L655-S5161RDx ($699.99 list, 3.5 stars); the RV520-W01 sports a textured line pattern that adds depth to its silver lid. Compared with the 5.6-pound HP dv6-6013cl and 5.3-pound Toshiba L655-S5161RDx, the RV520-W01 makes a better travel companion, too, as its 5.2-pound frame is the lightest in this group. Wireless Display 2 (WiDi 2.0) and WiMAX are two of the most notable features, since they're not often found in budget laptops. With WiDi 2.0, you can stream content from the RV520-W01 to a larger flat panel without the use of a physical cable, with a wireless range of up to 50 feet. This is the second iteration of Wireless Display, which means the laptop can now stream 1080p video (without choking), as well as protected content from your DVD collection. A Netgear Push2TV receiver is required and a separate purchase, though. Think of WiMAX (or 4G wireless) as a Wi-Fi connection that blankets an entire city. There are more than 60 cities that have WixMAX towers erected, including New York and San Francisco, and monthly rates are cheaper than many home DSL packages. WiDi 2.0 and WiMAX can also be found in the Lenovo V570-1066A9U.

Samsung BD-D8900M Blu-ray Player Review

Samsung BD-D8900M Blu-ray Player Review

The BD-D8900M is the step-up version of the BD-D8500M we reviewed earlier this year. This unit doubles the hard-disk capacity of the BD-D8500M to 1TB, giving you about 240 hours of hi-def recordings from the built-in Freeview HD (DVB-T2) tuners, which even the staunchest couch potato would struggle to fill. And with built-in Wi-Fi, a host of network features, web content and 3D Blu-ray playback are on board too. The BD-D8900 is a stylish unit, boasting Samsung’s familiar glossy black finish with eye-catching flashes of silver, but at 60mm high it’s a lot chunkier than Samsung’s non-HDD Blu-ray players. It’s covered in cool embellishments like a front display panel with illuminated touch-sensitive controls built into it, a front-loading disc slot and a window on top that shows the disc whirring round.

Gateway FX6850-51u Desktop PC Review

Gateway FX6850-51u Desktop PC Review

The FX6850-51u's design echoes previous iterations of the FX gaming desktop line, like the Gateway FX840-15e ($1,099.99 list, 3 stars). It's not as bold as Alienware's offerings, but its black glossy finish is accented by two glowing red grills on either side adding a bit of gaming flare. On the top of the system is a protruding lip that has a selection of easily accesable I/O ports, like a card reader (SD/MMC, xD, Micro SD, CF, and MS/PRO), two USB 2.0, and audio jacks. There's also a "Photo Frame Button" that will present images in a slideshow format from any inserted card—if there isn't any card in one of the slots, it will pull the images you store in the huge 1TB 7,200rpm hard drive. At this size, any multimedia downloader should be satisfied, but there's room to expand just in case. Two hard drive bays in front of the PC are already wired and ready for hook up. There's also an open optical drive bay (also wired) where you could put a Blu-ray player, as the FX6850-51u only comes with a Super-multi DVD drive.

Philips Multimedia Gaming Monitor

Philips Multimedia Gaming Monitor

Philips has now launched in Europe the E-line 273E3LSB, a multimedia and gaming-craving 27-inch monitor which features a W-LED backlight and a response time of only 1ms grey-to-grey (3.5ms typical). The 273E3LSB has a recommended price tag of €339.

This new display has a carbonite black finish, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 178/170 H/V viewing angles, 300 cd/m2 brightness, a contrast ratio of 1,200:1 (20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), D-Sub and DVI connectors, touch controls, and a typical power consumption of 19.6W.
